As the Olympics get rolling Musical Beginnings is holding its own race to the finish: the Scale Olympics! Our students are challenged to do scales in all 12 keys at the same time that our athletes are pushing themselves in Paris. The challenge varies according to the student’s level and is determined by the teacher and student together. For a beginner it might be just the first five notes of each major scale. An intermediate student might tackle the minor scales. An advanced student could try for four octaves in varying meters. Whoever meets their goal gets a medal. Go Team USA!!
